A River Ford Looking Toward Bwlch y Ddeufaen

After leaving the general area of the milestones which is close to the wall shown on image three, the track starts to climb east, see the pylons? they take another possible Roman route, but any routes seem to converge at a point near the last pylon, which is the furthest point to be seen on image seven, the terrain left is level enough to support another Roman road, but why so close together is unknown, we must be looking at two Roman roads here, early and late, military and civilian maybe, this road like Kanovium fort is really an unknown commodity, more research into North Wales’ Roman history is required.

Shown here is a ford over the road, only one of three in the whole section we walked, in fact the road is very well drained, in the distance it climbs the slope in a section of zig zags which is typical of Roman work.  At the left side of the road is another small standing stone, while another is visible in the far distance.
